Lamb Update

Well still waiting on the first lambs to arrive. I so hate waiting for the first ones. Once the start arriving all is good but those first couple of ewes are the worst, many days spent nail biting. This year will be especially bad since I have so many first time moms and the shift change I am working has me real nervous.

There will be so many exciting crosses this year ! Wensleydale x BFL, BL/BFL x bfl, Finn x Wensleydale and then purebred Wensleydale and BFL. Oh I cannot wait !!

A Time of Reflection

I am back!

It has been a long time and I have missed my blog. But, alas, life got in the way and time did not stand still as you well know. Many changes has happened to Ryan's Way in the past couple of years and we have changed directions several times. But I think one must adapt and evolve to discover what will work along with life's requirements.
We are raising Blue Face Leicester and Wensleydales now, along with some exciting crosses. The fleeces are simply awesome and I have been having fun with my new Ashford CS2.
A new specialty item that I am excited to say took off like wildfire is our snowmen ornaments. Stuffed with our sheep wool, hand painted faces and unique woolen caps spun and made by me out of our sheep wool are simply awesome. I am proud to say there is a waiting list on these.
